In an embedded question the clause after the question word has statement (subject + verb) word order and takes no auxiliary do/does/did. 'Could you tell me where the bank is?' follows this rule: where + subject + verb. In 'I wonder why did she leave so early' the inverted order 'did she leave' is wrong; it should be 'why she left'. In 'Do you know what time does the film start?' the clause should be 'what time the film starts'. In 'She asked me where did I buy that coat' it should be 'where I had bought (bought) that coat'.
