Check tense backshift, pronouns, time and place words, reporting verbs and word order. «She told me that she would meet me there the next day» is correct: will becomes would, you becomes me, here becomes there, tomorrow becomes the next day. «The teacher told us not to touch the screen» is correct: a negative imperative becomes not + infinitive after told. «Tom said that he had lost his keys» is correct: Present Perfect becomes Past Perfect. «He asked me if I have finished the report» is wrong: after the past reporting verb the tense must shift to had finished. «She asked where did I buy that jacket» is wrong: a reported question keeps statement word order (where I had bought that jacket). «The guard said us that we had to leave then» is wrong: said cannot be followed by an indirect object without to; told us should be used.
